Asus L5 very linux friendly BUT....
Hi all

new to this forum, but not knew in linux world.

Asus L5 is near fully compliant with Linux distros as morphix, knoppix, gentoo and slackware.... I tested all those env on it running more or less well :-) (some little annoyment like no touchpad need to work around, but easily fixable)

One black point on all thodistro, the 3Com embeded nic (10/100/1000) is not recognize..... Is anyone know if a module suit to this dev ?

Lspci -v shows a unknown device 0173c (asus aptop) and unknown dev 1700.....

The only gigabit board NIC of 3com's that I am familiar with is the 3com 2000, is that the common name of this monster? The lspci output doesn't bring up anything on google. If it is the same chipset you can get a full source driver from Asus under the P4P800 board, here's a huge thread about it:

Hope that works for you.

You need the sk98lin.o driver.

If you are compiling the driver into the kernal set CONFIG_SK98LIN=y.

Hope this helps.
