Asus G50 Hangs when installing
I've tried to install Ubuntu 9.10 on my laptop a few times now and either it will hang at the Prepare Partitions dialog when i hit forward to begin to go to step 7 or 8, or once it made it to the actual install dialog and at 70% it just went to a blank screen forever.
I figure it might be with my HDDs since I have 2 250gig each split into 2 120ish partitions. I completely reformatted the 2nd HDD to have the full 250gig and gave it 10gig swap space using ext4 for the install on the '/' root. Here's a picture. Picture It's been sitting at that screen for 20 mins now. |
Also, when I boot into Unbuntu to do an install from there I get i/o errors, but it continues to boot in just fine.

And when I try to install 64-bit it doesn't give me the i/o errors, and gets to 5% before taking 2 minutes and just disappearing. I'm left back at the linux desktop that I had when I started up. What is going on!?
