Aspect ratio problems!

I assume the configurations done the same way no matter what distro you use but I'm using auditor (too scared to put anything but live CD's on my laptop).

I've got a sony vaio T150 with a 16:9 ratio screen, there are two major problems I have with all live CD's the first is I always get 4:3 ratio (black at left and right sides) and although not a major problem its slightly annoying Also my Centrino wireless networking card doesnt work Ideally I want some help with the AR can anyone help? If you need any more information let me know

Any help at all would be excellent Thanks a lot guys and girls!

Most live CDs have parameters that yo can pass at boot to override the screen resolution. For example, on Knoppix you can enter cheatcodes to override default behavior. In the case of Knoppix, the boot parameter you want is "screen", as in:

knoppix screen=1280x960
