a laptop that comes with windows pre-installed and is more than 1 year old is most likely compatible with any gnu/linux.

please inform yourself before starting a thread for every question that pops in your head.

I've had two hp streams 11s and they work fine in linux, even debian stable. The wifi was a bit jank for the first year-ish though. Six months if you veered outside of the distro. But tech that dates back to 2014.

careful with hp and lenovo

locked down bios restrictions for certain plugin cards

some network cards will not work later, see ebay for example. => keyword whitelist on google

these models it wouldn't matter if there's whitelists or not, everything is soldered to the board (including wireless card), so there's nothing you can replace anyway.
