Does anyone know of any Linux pda distro that can be installed on a Compq Aero handheld? The only thing that I've found was Familiar, which isn't for the Aero (but might work, I don't know). Most importantly, though, Win CE is locked up on it and it won't respond to the stylus or go past the welcome screen, and with Familiar you have to download the files into the pda and execute the installation from there.
If anybody can point me to some links about a distro that'll work and can be installed from a desktop, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have a Compaq Aero 2130 and have been researching the possiblity of using linux on it.
First things first, there are many PDA distro's out there, but for the Aero processor i'd use the Linux-VR distro (linux-vr.sourceforge.net).
Compile the source and get CyaCE to execute the kernel.
However if you cannot use the PDA due to it not responding to Stylus etc, then it would seem that the PDA is stuffed....
If you can get it working, download CyaCe, compile the Linux-VR source code, configure CyaCE to use the Linux-VR kernel and migrate it to your PDA. Then just do what you know to do....
