Another "Fatal server error: no screen found"

I am newbie here. I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, whether to post in the newbie forum, here, or slackware forum. Sorry if this end up not being the best place to post this.

I just installed Slackware 13.0 on my PIII laptop (SHARP PC-MV12W). But I am having problem configuring and running GUI. I've been searching all day on Google, and see people posting similar issue when installing linux on laptop. However, I am unable figure out whether this is a problem with my xorg.conf file, a driver issue, or something else.

I've tried to install Ubuntu first, but the screen just goes blank after choosing to install or demo from cd.

Also tried Slax. I was able to load into KDE with Slax, but the display was distorted.

hope someone can help.

Since My earlier post, I've downloaded and tried a few more linux live CD distro. Here are the ones I've tried so far

-Ubuntu
-Slax
-Berry
-Knoppix
-PclinuxOS
-KnoppMyth
-Zorin OS

Most of them either gives me a blank screen or distorted display when going into GUI, EXCEPT FOR 1 OF THEM. I was able to load into GUI using Berry Linux without any problems. Everything display perfectly (touchpad however won't work).

Now that I know Berry Linux works, how can I work backward and find out what exactly made it work? Can I just compare the xorg.conf file?

There are a bunch of "Modelines" in the xorg.conf from berry linux. I've tried simply made a copy of the xorg.conf from Berry and stick it into Slackware that I've installed, but that didn't really work, it results in blank screen. However, it did behave similarly to Berry initially as if it was "calibrating" (screen flickers with distortion for a sec), however, while Berry would eventually load into GUI and display perfectly, doing the same in Slackware would just results into blank screen.

Here is the xorg.conf from Berry:
