Unhappy Amilo På 3553

Does anyone know of a distro that will smoothly install on a Amilo P 3553 laptop?
I can't find any distro that will.
Or they stop during install,they will not boot, they crash afterwards, etc.
I would be very pleased if someone could tell me about a working distro.
In the meantime I will keep looking and trying.
I can't do without Linux.

I don't know but if it manages to boot *any* Live CD maybe posting *what* it crashed on and posting HW specs (dmesg, lshw, lspci, you know) might help?
