After a couple of hours configuring ALSA and reading documentation yesterday, I got ALSA successfully installed. It was working superbly for the most part. Then, I rebooted (following the initial reboot that allowed ALSA to work in the first place), and all of a sudden I'm back where I was ... ALSA can't find the sound device. Of course this puzzles me because it was working before. When I try to run alsamixer I receive:

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for hw:0: No such device

Whereas, prior to the reboot, it worked just as it was supposed to, alsamixer. I'm moving through the documentation, but can't seem to find anything of use. Any ideas, files I need to modify, etc. anyone can think of? Thanks.
