alienware laptop exotics and linux???

Has anyone here tried Linux on the Alienware laptops? I'm thinking of buying one, I asked alienware about putting linux on it preconfigured, but they said no, so if i go about installing linux on anothe partition, what complications would i have?

Just to clarify some features it may will have...

1920 x 1200 17inch display running on "Dual" 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS - SLI Enabled, Integrated webcam and using a AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML37 2.0GHz

What support does linux have for the above exotics?

thanks so much

Nothing too exotic in above. Main problem usually is the wireless adapter and chipset.

"At the top of the keyboard there resides two functional buttons, the Media Direct button allows you to quickly boot to a Linux OS that allows you to play media (see OS section for more) and then there's the rounded power button located at top center." - http://www.notebookreview.com/defaul...Dell+XPS+M1710
