Thanx for your reply.. I forgot to write something.. iam quiet newbie and dunno where to config or even search for the modem. (/dev/somewhere).. can you help me with this? thx
Some agere modems are supported and some are not. You may want to do an "lspci" to determine the exact model and find out if the ltmodem driver will work for you.

EDIT: then you can read the documentation on the ltmodem driver to see how it is set up.
