acpi trouble,my laptop doesn't boot

Hi all,i'm looking for a way to solve my laptop problem,i got a compaq 615 for christmas, and it goes very well, except for the boot,it got a problem with the modules pcmcia and pcmcia_core at the kernel loading time,so if i don't append acpi=off via grub,it doesn't boot.I googled a lot and now i know thats the problem, but i can't downgrade the kernel(with older kernels no problem),right now i'm using 2.6.32-trunk from the debian repos;i just have to boot with acpi on but without loading the pcmcia modules when loading the kernel,of course i need them for the wifi(stupid broadcom)and i will load them after,in an higher runlevel. The question is,anybody know how to do that??Recompiling the kernel is a solution??I just think i got to work on the initramfs but i'm not so keen on that kind of problem.Thank for the help!

P.s I'm using debian testing with kernel 2.6.32-trunk(fron unstable repos)

0 replies wow...btw i'm on the right way,to all owners of a compaq 615,you can boot both adding the lines acpi=off (unsuggested) or pcmcia.blacklist=yes but in that case you will not have the wireless working, and you won't modprobe pcmcia, the solution is,download a fresh kenel from kernel.org and recompile it excluding the pcmcia drivers, they are not real dependencies of b43,so you could boot with acpi on and with the wireless working!I'll let you know..
