acpi problem (no poweroff, no brighness change!) on Toshiba Satellite m45 s355

I own a TOSHIBA Satellite M45 S355 with openSUSE 11.0. for almost a year with openSUSE 10.3 and 11.0 it was all fine, the laptop did shutdown and halt, the brighness changed (with omnibook module) and almost every thing went fine.

2 weeks ago, it started some strange behavior. The laptop does not power off. when i shut it down (tried: click, "shutdown -P now", "init 0") it executes the shutdown command, everything goes on, hard disk is turned off, but the lcd is energized (and the system hangs) i have to press power button for 5 sec to get it off.

the second strange thing is that the omnibook module does not work any more. when reporting LCD brighness:

linux-wupu:/proc/omnibook # cat lcd
LCD brightness: 210 (max value: 7)

that's incorrect (i note again that it worked fine for 1 year). so any idea is appreciated !

i can put more information here upon request.

acpi, lcd, suspend, toshiba
