I get these errors, when I boot up. Can someone tell me what,s wrong?

Also:
# acpi -V
No ACPI support in kernel, or incorrect acpi_path ("/proc/acpi").

I have compiled the kernel with ACPI. But it seems the modules won't install. Did I forget something or did I something wrong?

Using Debian unstable

I am not sure that it will help, but if you use kernel 2.4.22, the built-in acpi support is not enough for some laptop (it wasn't for my toshiba satellite!). Best is to download the latest acpi patch from http://acpi.sourceforge.net/, and patch your kernel with all the modules you need enabled..
Hope it helps!

Well, I had the same thing with kernel 2.4.21, I thought an update would fix it, that's why I compiled 2.4.22 but still no go.
I'm using a Compaq Presario.

Still, I found that the acpi patch from acpi site is much better than the default acpi support in kernel 2.4.22. It might be worth giving it a shot...

guys, ACPI support is still under heavy development in the Kernel. My baterry meter did not work until 2.4.22, so I'm very happy, and I suspect that 2.4.23 will have many more additional benefits, like suspend and goodies like that. And if they missed your laptop, chances are that they will have it in there!, so don't lose hope because it's coming!

And if you want to get into patching, then yes, follow laurentbon's advice!

Full ACPI is coming, don't become desperate!
