Acer_fancontrol 3rd gear
I have an Acer Aspire 5315 with Backtrack 5 32bit Gnome installed on hdd with dual boot in Vista.
The laptop under Vista comes with epower technology which controls the fan.
So under Backtrack I had to download acer_fancontrol.tar.gz and make install.
Now when I boot into Backtrack the screen freezes on the BT5 backscreen and i get

cat:/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/T201/temperature:No such file or directory
3rd gear

but thats all it does.

please help

could you please tell us more about the specifications of your laptop? which processor?

and you DO NOT already know how to fix this .
