Acer Ferrari freezes (apm and/or acpi problems?)
I'm running Fedora Core 1 on an Acer Ferrari laptop, and it seems that acpi is causing the computer to freeze. I originally noticed that KLaptop always said "no battery," so I updated grub.conf to load the kernel with "acpi=on" and "apm=off." However, this causes the computer to freeze. When I do it the other way around, the computer thinks there is no battery.
Anyone know what might be going on here?
Updated: Oh, the kernel version is 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl (installed from a binary RPM, I haven't done anything funny).
