Acer Aspire One - Error installing pyNeighborhood after Linux reinstall

After trying another distro, I reinstalled Linpus from the updated ISO. All the previously added software (latest Firefox, VLC etc.) reinstalled OK except pyNeighborhood. This gives the following error. Can anyone help diagnose the problem?

[root@localhost pyNeighborhood-0.4.1]# make install
`which python` ./compile
Listing . ...
Listing ./icons ...
install -d //usr/local/bin
make: install: Command not found
make: *** [install] Error 127
