Acer Aspire One boot problem

i origionally posted this in the "mobile" section.

i need help pelase! i think ive screwed my laptop up. i have an acer aspire one with linux on it which also has fedora 8 on it. i tried to install fedora 9 but ive hit a problem.

what i did:
1. downloaded the "use 32 bit live CD (691)" from http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/downlo...d-dvd-iso.html
2. i unzipped it a 1GB USB drive
3. restarted my laptop and opened boot menu
3. hit USB boot and got a message "unable usb partition" or soemthing like that, hit enter, del, esc (in that order i think)
4. turned my laptop off the back on
now i just have a black screen, the power button is on but nothing else is

does anyome know the problem and is it fixable??

Can I have some more information? Do you see the BIOS screen, and have you tried entering your BIOS setup, even if you cannot see it? DId you leave the USB drive out of the laptop when rebooting? Etc...

Acer Aspire One Wont boot (recovery procedure)

This isn't a OS fault, the Aspire Ones do this from time to time and it is a corrupt BIOS that is causing the problem.

The AA One does have a BIOS recovery option that isn't to hard to follow, I have a guide on my blog as My one used to do it as well

Head over to http://twistagain.blogspot.com/2009/...wont-boot.html for the procedure to re-flash the BIOS

What is with that it voided the warranty????

Not to be mean ,but what is with that ??? Acer puts a recovery for the

Bios and doesn't allow users to do this step to save there Netbook...

This would save as Acer time and money ...

well if someone put the WRONG bios update you might brick your unit, as for this procedure it is intended for service personnal and seeing I DONT work for acer or any of its affliates it really has nothing to do with me, you would have to contact acer and query them as to why they dont allow and or encourage end users to try and fix there own machines
