Acer Aspire 5532: Compatability? Kubuntu 9.10/ Backtrack 4

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5532 because it was a great deal and I needed a laptop for school. If I had more time, I would have looked for one with good compatability. Right now, I'm still using Win7 () and want to move off of it to Linux. I have stayed with Ubuntu/ Kubuntu since the start and don't want to move out. I also rely heavily on Backtrack 4. My question is this: are there any known compatability issues with this specific model, or are there any links you can provide that will give me a review concerning Linux compatability, preferably with Kubuntu 9.10 or Backtrack 4. It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well it seems to me since you are stuck with the hardware already and want to run Linux, there isn't much point doing research on it now. Just install (or run it live) and see what happens.

ah, haha, already did. I cant get sound on BT4, common problem, but solutions dont work. I am gonna put Kubuntu in and see how it works, but that brings another question: BT4 uses Ubuntu, and I want to keep the BT4 programs, but move to a different distro. Since they use the same base system, is it possible to add the BT4 repositories to Kubuntu?
To better explain: putting repositories for one distro into another distro. Is that possible? What complications are there, and what procedures are there? Thanks for your help guys!

Im using Kubuntu 9.10, it works fine, I think I'm just gonna use this. I use it for work in Security Analysis and for personal use, so I wish there was an easy way to put the Auditor Security Collection (aka BackTrack program suite) on the computer. Any ideas? I know, Im a n00b. but thanks for your help!
