We need information. What is the wireless card? Look for it in the output from these commands (You will need root, or use 'sudo command')

lspci
lsusb
lspcmcia
ifconfig
iwconfig

If you find it, post that bit - not the lot, if you please. What is your kernel version?
uname -r
