It says 1.03. So yeah, try upgrading.

that's odd - mine was also 1.03... after installing win 10 again and upgrading to 1.09 i tried to install ubuntu 16 and...... SUCCESS! the installation routine went all the way through... absolutely flawlessly... don't ask me why but the uefi upgrade did the trick for me...

Ok, happy to hear you made it. You'll see that from now on it's a very smooth experience.
The only thing I think I forgot to mention is that I had to install the synaptic xorg driver for the touchpad right button to work...

Everything worked for me out oft the box. Even the trackpad including two finger scrolling and right click worked - had to set it to "advanced" in the UEFI, though.

There you go.

I was thinking that maybe the firmware version 1.03 is a major version and that there might still have been differences between your 1.03 and my 1.03 that weren't stated in the version number....
