Acer 230XV keyboard/freezing issues

Hi there,

i've just installed Ubunutu Linux on my Acer 230XV following the guide from di.unipi.it/~scordino/debian. html (sorry for the formatting, stupid rule prevents me from posting URL's). Most of the installation issues have been taking of, but one problem remains: i can't use "Alt Gr" (Or alt + ctrl to simulate the same effect, for that matter) at all. I cannot produce any special symbols requiring the use of Alt Gr. I also cannot use any of the danish special symbols, even though i have the danish keyboard layout installed. Here is what my xorg.conf says:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
Driver "kbd"
Option "CoreKeyboard"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "dk"
Option "XkbVariant" "qwerty"
EndSection

I use the danish keyboard layout, since i live in Denmark. Even though i can not produce the Alt Gr special symbols, i can use Shift without problems. So for instance i can produce ", %, ( and so on, but i can't produce things like the 'at' symbol (i had to copy the 'at' symbol from another e-mail address in order to register here :/).

Another thing is, my laptops freezes from time to time, without pattern and without warning. It just suddenly freezes, and i have to reboot the computer by holding the power-on button pressed for some seconds. However, when i had Windows XP installed on this laptop, there was no such freezing.

If you want, i can post my whole xorg.conf.

Can anyone explain to me how i can make my keyboard work, or perhaps
help me figure out why the laptop freezes from time to time?

Should you need more information, i am more than willing to post it.

Thanks in advance!
