3G connectivity and speed

Dell latitude E6230 with 3g on it. When I am using internal 3g the connectivity is too weak or fail to connect. If I use the same SIM card on the external 3G modem the speed and connectivity hold. I don't whether is the driver issues.I am using the Ubuntu LTS 16.04.

Hi phaswatl,

Welcome to LQ!

Did you ever connect with the modem? It might be that the modem must be activated before it can get on a G3 network. Each G3 modem must use a cellular service. If the modem is not activated on any service, it can't connect to anything.
