3D acceleration with ATI Mobility M1 on SuSE 9.2

I would like to know if anyone has managed to enable 3D acceleration with the ATI Mobility M1 graphics card.

I'm using a Dell Latitude Cpt V notebook with SuSE 9.2 and when I check the graphics card configuration, the card that is selected by default is the ATI 3D Rage Mobility AGP 2x

I don't know why this card is selected but I can't see any entry for ATI Mobiliity M1 on the options list for ATI drivers so I use the default selection to avoid any further difficulties.

The graphics work without any noticeable problems but 3D acceleration for this driver is unavailable and I can't understand why this is the case especially when the driver that has been selected clearly indicates 3D capability.

I would be very grateful for any comments or advice as to how the 3D accelereration can be enabled or whether there's a different driver I should use for the graphics card.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Regards,

I.G.

If you reconfigure you display with yast > hardware> Reprobe or change optition. See if that helps. The ATI option in my install does aboslutely nothing when I click on it.
