2 wireless cards ubuntu


ok i run ubuntu 9.10 on my asus eee 900 it runs fine internet and what not is wonderful but in collage where doing linux and they want me the linux kid (because i alowase say linux is better then windows) to get two wireless cards to work like being able to switch between them to connect. i have been able to get my internal wireless card to connect to networks. but when i put my external rosewell rnx-g1 in my computer wicd wich is my network connection program only notices my internal one now i have dissabled my internal one and told wicd to use my wlan1 card insted of my wlan0 card but it still wont find any networks any help?
