0kb cache pentium m
hello all;
Uh, when I cat /dev/cpuinfo, it shows that my processor has 0kb cache. Now a pentium m has 1024kb cache. My question, does my laptop uses this cache? and why these invalid values? |
I am not quiet sure
did the Kernel read all your hardware correctly?? check with your distribution if they support a driver for your processor |
uh, it is a pentium, it is supported... and yep gentoo has a live cd for the pentium m, same as the p4.
|
what notebook brand do you have?
hm... sound very interesting problem, but I am not a kernel hacker. I just using linux to develop my C/C++ and Java applications. I am just getting started into linux kernel. (I have a problem with my wireless card / Belkin 802.11b) |
I think your a bit late...
the gentoo fora got the probable solution, you need a kernel higer than 2.4.22, so it is fixed in 2.4.23. But have fun programming. (I also am a happy coder) |
well I hope you add the path to your kernel correctly
Happy programming :) :) |
