{F9}Problems connecting to my wifi with the RTL8187B USB 2.0 Adapter inside my laptop

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L45 and am trying to get it to connect to my wireless access point. After the system was fully updated, I rebooted and chose the new kernel that was recompiled. Amazingly my Wifi USB adapter started working (well almost) by detecting my router. It shows up on the top right corner of the toolbar, but when I click on my SSID and type in my WEP encryption, it tries to connect but never does. I tired to connect without any security and still nothing. If it is of any importance I have a Linksys WRT54G.

Aside from the fact that my "integrated" USB2.0 wireless adapter does not connect, I am glad that it can detect nearby access points. I hated compiling the curevo drivers or if they didn't work the ndiswrapper technique back in Fedora 8. I just need this to work so I can rid myself of Vista forever.

Bump and update. I have gotten the drivers for the wireless adapter from Realtek itself, but they are for the 2.6.24 kernel which will not work for my 2.6.26.3 recompiled kernel of course. I tried it though and everytime I tried to use ther makedrv script it comes up with an error. I can't list it now because I am in school but will list it when I get home.

I tried searching for the drivers online to match my kernel but with no success.
