[Debian (Knoppix)] ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 Proprietary Drivers? Do they work?

I've recently seen on the ATI site that Radeon Mobility 9600 is now supported, but I can't seem to find which driver, and I would have no clue what to do even if I got the driver installed. If someone could help me at least find which driver to use i would be very happy. I've been looking since January for support for my old graphics card, so I finally asked Alienware to downgrade me so that I'd have better hope of getting drivers working, as even watching TV-shows on this system is very system intensive, and about kills it at fullscreen (it overheats a lot of the time cause it takes so much). So, any help?

EDIT:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 4e50

there's my lspci output.
