X is not starting after updating kernel on ps3

I am using a ps3 with yellow dog linux 6.1.
I recently compiled and updated the kernel to 2.6.30-rc1 from git repo.

The kernel installs fine, but my X does not start.

I assume i have build the modules in kernel itself

i have added the following line in my /etc/yaboot.conf
video=ps3fb:mode:3 rhgb quiet

Is there something i am missing.

Which errors are you getting when booting?

And did you enable FrameBuffer support in the kernel when compiling?
