Homework question?

The following focussing comments will help you answer them:
you recompile the kernel when you don't like the way the one you have is compiled.
define "system performance"

Thanks, But with respect to Block devices and File system which one is the best configuration change under ".config file"

Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

If you do not show what work you have already done, then do not expect a lot of help here

What does "best" mean in this context? Previously you talked about "system performance", so I'd suspect that "best" means "gives the most improved system performance". So - when you define "system performance" you will see which approach is best.

You have to do your own homework. That is how you learn.

LQ exists to help improve the gnu/linux community as we add to it. If we just feed you the answers we will not be helping you or the community. However, we can guide you to find the answers you seek. But you need to show that you are trying - at least try to refine your question so it becomes more specific.

I understand that there are other forums which do not have such compulsions - please feel free to use those if you find our conditions too hard for you.
