Question Update the Kernel from 2.6.9 to 2.6.22 some Warning?help!!!


[root@XXXXX linux-2.6.22]# make modules
CHK include/linux/version.h
CHK include/linux/utsrelease.h
CALL scripts/checksyscalls.sh
Building modules, stage 2.

First time I didn't do anything with this . then I used other command as
make modules_install ;make install ;
after that ,vi /boot/grub/grub.conf change the first boot is the new kernel. the error happened.

can not init! what can i do ?

My guess is that you have a mismatch between the kernel source version
(2.6.22) and the source versions of the various drivers which will not compile correctly.

Thank you for your reply!
I have got a method to deal with it !
I had update OS and add the development tools package by default package.
use the same source and update successful!
But I didn't understand. why that ?
