Testing 2.6.24-rc5, several issues

I'm testing kernel version 2.6.24-rc5, and have run into a couple of issues:

1) udevtrigger takes well over a minute to run when booting, both times the boot process calls it.

2) Running init 4 sends the term signal and says it's starting the X11 server, but never does. It just sits there. I'm concerned that this is related to the fact that I can't find the option for my Intel 945gm graphics card driver in the kernel config anymore. The closest thing I can find is the i915 driver, which I've enabled.

3) I need to enable the iwlwifi driver but it's a hidden option in the config. When when I set xconfig to show all options, I cannot check it. Why is this?

I'm running Slackware 12. My .config and lshw outputs can be found at devblog.us/config and devblog.us/lshw.html

I don't have anything like your system, but 24-rc5 went on and works o.k. for me.

For 3), this generally indicates you are missing a required (other) option. For iwlwifi looks like it might depend on "PCI && MAC80211 && WLAN_80211 && EXPERIMENTAL".
