Tried to use some of your options, recompiled with no luck.

I do not even have this option CONFIG_X86_VSMP=y
I am trying to compile 2.6.19.1 if that makes a difference
My cpu is a t2400 core duo if that also makes any difference.

Do you notice on my cpuinfo that the mhz says 1000? You have a 2.4 ghz and it says 2400mhz why would that be?

You can download my config for my IBM thinkpad T60 T2300... the only thing you should disabed is for the wireless card because it use hotplug to load the firmware...

That did not work either! I loaded up the bios and the bios says I have two cores. Wow this is really frustrating.
