Question system not shutting down from mandrakelinux10.1


dear all,
my system cannot shut down.
it has been loaded with mandrakelinux10.1
the messages trails off just after,
halting system
power down
what could be the problem?
please help.

just try the folowing command before shutdown:

modprobe apm

and then halt.
if it work put modprobe apm in /etc/rc.local or other startup script
