Since updating to Ubuntu HH *.19 my restricted Nvidia driver has disappeared.

I'm still learning the finer points of linux. Where can I go to retrieve it from the old kernel (if I boot into the old kernel it still loads by default, so it must be on the HDD)? Is there a simple command I haven't yet found that will search for the driver? I don't have the suggestion icon in the icon tray.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 6200, I tried installing the unix driver from the Nvidia site (I guess its one driver fits all by the looks of it), but it didn't get me anywhere.

You might need to reinstall the nvidia driver.

This might help...

I did as it said, and it compiled a new kernel module for me.

Now I go to Hardware Drivers and it reads "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver(latest cards)" Enabled, and In Use

I still can't go past 800x600... and I know both my monitor and card are capable.

I'm hoping this is the resolution to the problem I'm having getting compiz running too. Everything worked great til I decided to run updates lol... Reminds me of the Windows days...
