(RHEL5.2) Makefile references docBook, but machine has none

This is a new installation of RHEL 5.2 and I installed the source package. I ran "make mrproper" and got an error about docBook. There is no "Documentation" or "docBook" directory anywhere in the filesystem, but one of the kernel Makefiles references them. Do I have to install docBook to "make mrproper"?

thx
