Post Promblem in building kernel.

Hi All,Im new to linux and try to build kernel first time.Im using BeagleBoard-XM and i have to port linux on to board.

Im using Texas Instruments source code.
1.I have extracted beagleboard-sdk-src-05.03.02.00.tar.gz file in to the directory and untarared it.
2.There is a .config and some other files in the above directory.
2.Exported the path containing arm-arago-linux-gnueabi- tool chain.
3.Now if i try this command 'make .config ARCH-arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-arago-linux-gnueabi-' it is giving error No rule to make target '.config'.stop.

Please help out.

Thanks,
Hemanth
