Question problems with rc.inet1 after kernel update

I installed Slackware 13 a few days ago. It was running linux-2.6.29.x. I had some networking problems initially as my dell dimension 4700 had two ethernet cards but only one port. Setup found the card not connected to the port. This was an easy fix though as I went in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and uncommented the tulip module for my ADMtek NC100 Ethernet Card.
Code:
 DECchip Tulip (dc21x4x) PCI support:
 /sbin/modprobe tulip
Then i went into /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf and modified eth1 to scan for DHCP
Code:

# Config information for eth0:
IPADDR[0]=""
NETMASK[0]=""
USE_DHCP[0]="yes"
DHCP_HOSTNAME[0]=""

# Config information for eth1:
IPADDR[1]=""
NETMASK[1]=""
USE_DHCP[1]="yes"
DHCP_HOSTNAME[1]=""
after
Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 stop && start
everything was happy.

Anyways, i compiled linux-2.6.34 this morning. Afterwords I have all files configured the same. For some reason rc.inet1 only scans eth0, which is the ethernet card not connected to the port. It does this even though rc.inet1.conf is configured as above. I can't quite figure this out.

I had something like this, but my issue was wifi. It's the scripts.

Try inserting lines (put one in the area of line 150) to see thats going on something like

echo "HACK: Line 153: $VARIABLE now is" $VARIABLE

Afterwards you can pull them by searching for the word HACK
