Problems installing RPM packages with YAST

I use SUSE 10, then I tried to install the latest java. since then every time I try to install a RPM package it says "following packages hven't been found on the medium: (name of package).
Does anybody knows what's going on and what can I do to fix this?

Any help would be great, since I have been stuck whith this for a few days.

I'd suggest you uninstall and then use YAST like
Code:

yast -i java.rpm
from the command line. That will also run the correct linker and SuSEconfig programs to keep your installation in proper check. After that you can uninstall with the graphical YAST.

<edit> Too fast an answer :(. You already used YAST. How, exactly?
<edit2>
Code:

yast2 -i java.rpm
might be better, dunno exactly.

I don't really understand you two. When you use the graphical tool YAST2 you can search in the install media's list of software packages for what is available. That gets coordinated with the packages which are already installed in your system and you get a resume of that. In this menu you can search for packages and either they are there or they aren't but that gives no such error.

One possibility with SuSE though: there exist two versions of the distro, one with only the GPLed software and one with commercial addons -> have a look at their site. If you have the first, it will lack Java...
