probleme with the "build"

I have a problem when i tried to install the "ndiswrapper"
debian:/home/svvvs/Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.50# make install
make -C driver install
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/svvvs/Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.50/driver'
Makefile:35: *** Cannot find kernel version in /lib/modules/2.6.18-5-k7/build, is it configured?. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/svvvs/Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.50/driver'
make: *** [install] Error 2

my kernel is:
debian:/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-5# uname -r
2.6.18-5-k7

then i tried to link the "build":

debian:/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-5# ls
arch block crypto drivers fs include init ipc kernel lib Makefile mm net security sound usr
debian:/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-5# ln -s /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-5/build

and i test the build with:
debian:/home/svvvs/Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.50# ls /lib/modules/2.6.18-5-k7/build
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.18-5-k7/build: Too many levels of symbolic links
debian:/home/svvvs/Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.50#

what's the probleme?

I do not use Debian normally, so I am going to make a general statement.

I believe that you are missing the required files to build a module against the running kernel.

I know on a Fedora system you can install the kernel-devel package ... not sure if there is an equivalent for Debian.

Is there a particular reason you started with Debian as your first
