Oracle Linux is rebranded Red Hat.

i take it you do not know that "Linux" is only the KERNEL

it is NOT a operating system
as above Oracle is a clone of redhat

this is like asking what is the difference in a ford F150 truck and a 350 HP small block engine

--there is a LOT of difference in a FULL truck and the Engine

You will find oracle being based on redhat, that many of the tools are slightly different compared to say debian. The configuration files are in different places and may contain slightly different configuration options.

The packages availabpe is also quite different with debian having a clear advantage there.

Debian and rhel based, i think are overall a bit more complicated than say ubuntu.

You get others like arch and slackware which is the holygrail ifyou want to specify all the nuts and bolts from the get go.

Other distros are great for specific tasks like penetration testing, system recovery, forensics etc.

They all have the kernel incommon, but aim at different needs to fulfill.

If you are only doing desktop stuff, i would probably not recommend your current distro.
