Cool Need RH 9 kernel 2.4.20.8 update to 2.4.36.4

Hi Linux Experts,

I am using RH 9 with Kernel version is 2.4.20.8, I need to upgrade it to 2.4.36.4 I have the resources, but I really need step-by-step instructions to perform this as I am stuck somehow due to lack of information.

The reason is upgrading the kernel is; when I want to use my usb flash it is detecting PS/2 port.

If any way to remove the usb issue with my current kernel ver. then no need to update the kernel.

Need exper advised from any one
