module parameters

looking at a network module through strings

file: via-velocity.ko
parm=rx_copybreak:Copy breakpoint for copy-only-tiny-frames
parm=wol_opts:Wake On Lan options
parmtype=wol_opts:array of int
parm=ValPktLen:Receiving or Drop invalid 802.3 frame
parmtype=ValPktLen:array of int
parm=speed_duplex:Setting the speed and duplex mode
parmtype=speed_duplex:array of int
parm=flow_control:Enable flow control ability <<<<<<<<<< description identifying it as the flow control parameter
parmtype=flow_control:array of int <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< datatype
parm=IP_byte_align:Enable IP header dword aligned
parmtype=IP_byte_align:array of int
parm=DMA_lengthMA length
parmtype=DMA_length:array of int
parm=rx_thresh:Receive fifo threshold
parmtype=rx_thresh:array of int
parm=TxDescriptors:Number of transmit descriptors
parmtype=TxDescriptors:array of int
parm=RxDescriptors:Number of receive descriptors
parmtype=RxDescriptors:array of int

I'm just wondering, if I were specifying flow_control via modprobe.conf option, what would a possible "array of int" value look like?

- Joel

For posterity: apparently even if it says "array of int" in regards to flow_control it's still just a boolean.

From the source code of via-velocity.c in Linux:

#define FLOW_CNTL_DEF 1
#define FLOW_CNTL_MIN 1
#define FLOW_CNTL_MAX 5

/* flow_control[] is used for setting the flow control ability of NIC.
1: hardware deafult - AUTO (default). Use Hardware default value in ANAR.
2: enable TX flow control.
3: enable RX flow control.
4: enable RX/TX flow control.
5: disable
VELOCITY_PARAM(flow_control, "Enable flow control ability");

It looks to me like the parameter should be a single decimal digit.
