LVM + COW (snapshotting) == Buffer I/O error on device dm-

Hi

I have prepared my three HD for LVM ( ~150LV , below it reports dm-94 ) but only one is encrypted and LVM sits on top of it.

Lately , I installed slackware14 and for backup I snapshot the root FS so as to detect any changes and prepare slack-tar-balls of them.

But after some time of logging(in KDE) it crashes and report

Quote:

Buffer I/O error on device dm-
The root FS has ~1G space. I suspect that the LVM snapshot has filled up completely but does not report it via df -h . And I also suppose that it is /var/tmp that is the culprit here since in earlier installs I used to seperate it from the main root FS.

Is it normal to get
Quote:

Buffer I/O error on device dm-94 logical block 0
Buffer I/O error on device dm-94 logical block 524272
If so how can it be skipped ?

My last resort will be to use init 3.

PS: Am I missing any info?
