kexec kernel automatically reboots before copying entire vmcore file

i am using 4.9 kernel, i installed kexec and kdump related utilities, now when kernel crashes it boots the new kexec configured kernel. when it boots i try to copy 256Gig /proc/vmcore file to local drive, but after copying only around 3GB system reboots automatically. I tried copying vmcore file through SCP but facing the same issue, system reboots automatically. Please suggest if someone knows how to resolve this.

The dump will by default be written to /var/dump. Check /etc/kdump.conf.
