Exclamation Kernel Security?

I was curious how do I know if the kernel I am using has any security issues? How do you know when the kernel you have running is not safe or shows massive vulnerabilities? Is there a site that will tell you or is the best thing to do, just ask?

Right now I am using 2.6.17-2-686

All things related to the kernel are found at You can subscribe to their mailing list. Also sites like linuxtoday and lxer publish any vulnerabilities found in the kernel and other opensource packages.
