Angry kernel error while installing using virtual machine

I am trying to install slackware/slackel onto a virtual drive on my lenovo G50 using virtual box. this is a 64 bit machine. every time i try to boot the slackware or slackel it gives the follwing error

unable to boot uae kernel appropriate for your computer

I installed Devaun with virtual box with no problem. I have looked for this problem in the forums and the guides, but can't find the anwser. I would appreciate any help.

thank you

I don't know Slackel, but Slackware installs fine with Qemu, so I assume it should work in virtualbox as well.

You don't give much detail, but here are things to check:

- what are the specs of the virtualbox virtual machine (not your host machine, but the one you are creating as the target for your virtual Slack install) ? what CPU are you using, how much RAM?

- what kernel are you using when you install Slackware? are you using the default (huge.s) ? or generic?

- what filesystem are you using and where are you installing the bootloader (LILO) to? are you placing LILO to the MBR or at the head of the partition?

I have an i3-4030u cpu. the kernel is 3.2.29,and I have given it 1 gig of ram. the error reads this kernel needs a x86-64 CPU but only but only detected ani686 CPU

unable to boot please use a kernel that is appropriate for your CPU. yes i am using (hugh.s) and i am placing lilo at the head of the partition

if more information is needed let me know.

You need to configure VirtualBox properly. 64 bit for 64 bit guest, or if using 32 bit guest the PAE setting is important.
