Is the encryption system behind LUKS multithreaded?

I'm about to reinstall my desktop and I'm looking at redoing my filesystem encryption. I noticed the CTR mode can be multithreaded in theory, but I need to know if the kernel actually handles (d)encryption using multiple threads in cases where such should be possible.
