I meant x86_64. In the kernel tree it is under arch/x86/ .
I did look at this documentation which still mentions do_IRQ.
I've dug a bit in the kernel source and found out that in earlier kernels, common_interrupt is an assembly function that calls do_IRQ. In kernel v5.8 and later, common_interrupt is a macro defined C function that also does the work that was previously done by do_IRQ.
