IRQ handle on v5.8 and up

Since kernel v5.8 the function do_IRQ does not exist for x86 architecture. Is there a documentation on the new IRQ handling?

Did you look at the kernel documentation?
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/late...enericirq.html

You say x86...do you mean 32bit, or x86_64?

I meant x86_64. In the kernel tree it is under arch/x86/ .

I did look at this documentation which still mentions do_IRQ.

I've dug a bit in the kernel source and found out that in earlier kernels, common_interrupt is an assembly function that calls do_IRQ. In kernel v5.8 and later, common_interrupt is a macro defined C function that also does the work that was previously done by do_IRQ.
