IPX not supported (RH 5)


Hi, i need that the kernel i got (2.6.9-42.ELsmp) on a Red Hat 5 distribution can support IPX. I dont know if i have to reinstall or recompile it. Can anyone help me please and tell me step by step what i have to do, i dont want to ruin everything..

AFAIK the only distribution that could run Netware is/was Novell SuSe. Netware was added to the SuSE 9.x series. A quick Google search shows that Novell has migrated Netware to a virtual machine running under Xen. Search Google for linux network server. Here is one article that was linked from the Novell Open Enterprise Server feature page.

I already had a server with Mandriva Distribution that allows me to mount a novell share and it is working fine. I just install there the ipxutils and the ncpfs rpm. But when i try to do the same on my red hat server it doesnt work. I got the error when i try to configure ipx (ipx_configure) that the adress family are not supported by protocol. And it seems to be that my kernel doesnt support ipx. i want to know what else i have to do. If anyone can help me, please!!!
