Unhappy Installing Linux kernel from the mailing list(lkml) patch


I have got the patch information in the linux kernel mailing list forum

Can anyone help me on how to install he patch given in the lkml( forum. Or support me with the direction to proceed with the patch implementation.

You will need to:
  • Download the source code for the kernel in question
  • Apply the patch, typically with patch -p1 < patchfile
  • Generate or copy a .config file into the kernel source root directory (zcat /proc/config.gz > .config will usually do the trick)
  • Compile the kernel
  • Install the newly compiled kernel and modules
More detailed instructions for each step should be no more than a quick search away.

The link you gave is not a PATCH. It's a program to do testing of a kernel patched with the patch referred to in the post. This is the patch itself:
